How to Use Windows Split Screen for Live Cricket Scores and Match Notes

There are two types of documents: a match page and a notes document. One is used for providing information for reference, and the other for keeping your observations. Having both visible will minimize the need to toggle between the two. Windows split screen feature arranges those windows side by side using the built-in Snap features. In Windows 11, a browser paired with notepad, word or excel allows you to watch cricket and take notes on the highlights.

Preparing the match page and your notes

Open the browser and your preferred notes application before arranging the screen. The cricket section on this website can occupy the browsing window, with your document beside it. If the notes are in another browser tab, drag that tab out into a separate window. Windows Snap arranges windows, so this separation lets both pages remain visible at once.

Give the notes a short heading containing the match and date. Add space for the innings, over, score, and an observation. A plain document works for occasional comments. Excel suits repeated entries with the same fields. Choose a format suited to your notes and keep it consistent so entries are easy to compare.

Placing two windows side by side

Start with a two-window layout. Select the browser, then use the keyboard to place each application on its own side of the screen:

  1. Press Windows + Left Arrow to snap the browser left.
  2. Select the notes window.
  3. Press Windows + Right Arrow to snap the notes right.
  4. Adjust the dividing edge if either window needs more space.

You can also drag a window toward a side edge until the placement outline appears, then release it. Snap Assist can offer the other open windows for the remaining space. Choose the notes application to complete the arrangement. Check that the score and the current line of notes are both visible before beginning, with neither window covering the other.

Choosing a layout that keeps the score readable

Equal shares are a good place to begin, but may require varying ratios of content. If you have a match page that has multiple columns, it might be better to have a bigger browser window. For brief written observations, less horizontal space is required. Adjust the divider and check the results. Some pages have figures that change their position when the window is narrowed, so be mindful of the position of the figures after resizing the window.

With Windows 11, Windows + Z brings up Snap Layouts options on the selected window. Select an arrangement that works for the screen and what applications you have available. Two column format is usually good on a laptop. Another adjustment is provided by your browser’s zoom (judge by readability: the score, over notation, and player information should always be easily distinguishable without needing to scroll horizontally much).

Taking match notes without rewriting the scorecard

Make‍‍‍ a determination upfront which events warrant being recorded before your note taking fills up the innings. An over being concluded, the arrival of a new bowler, or the loss of a wicket could serve as effective landmarks. Your note can be also a record of any noticeable change in the field placement or the scoring tactics. Those observations amount to only a selected record; the delivery sequence in full will be left for you to look up from the match source.

Every note should have attached both innings and over numbers. Separate event from your analysis by a note of it. Your note saying that a batter hit two boundaries is the truth. Your analysis that the player has a shift in his batting style is your opinion. That separation of the observed event and the interpretation results in a greater value of the notes for later review, particularly when a next over runs a different thread than your initial ‍‍‍guess.

Handling window focus and score updates

Typing goes into the active application, even when both windows are visible. Click the notes window before writing, or use Alt + Tab to switch applications. These habits help keep entries organized:

  • Check the innings and over before recording an event.
  • Wait for the delivery’s outcome to be established.
  • Keep score labels consistent across entries.
  • Save the document at convenient breaks in play.

Placing windows beside each other organizes the workspace, but updates still depend on the source page and its connection. Confirm the figures you are referring to before adding a note. If snapping does not behave as expected, open Settings > System > Multitasking and check the Snap windows settings. Then return to the two-window arrangement and test the placement again.

Keeping a useful record of the innings

Different‍‍‍ people at a team might need their own copy of the spreadsheet for the reason that, they might work in different places. They might have different hours or have different needs. So one team member could keep a spreadsheet at one location and another at completely a different place and they are still able to refer the same sheet. So it is possible to have different copies of same sheet being edited or updated in such a way that the latest version of the same is being maintained across everyone. This allows a team to work more flexibly without having to rely on other team members being online while working on spreadsheet ‍‍‍together.
